Proje Özeti
The Çakallı Hasan Ağa Mosque was rebuilt after being redesigned to replace the old mosque, which was severely damaged in the February 6th earthquakes. The project was designed with earthquake safety, respect for nature, and rapid construction principles in mind, and was completed and reopened for worship in just three months.

Çakallı Hasan Ağa Mosque, which was severely damaged in the February 6 earthquakes, was redesigned while preserving the spiritual memory of its location.

The aim of the project was not only to create a new building, but also to revitalize the mosque surroundings, which serve as an important gathering point for the neighborhood. In this context, the mosque area was conceived as a small-scale social space together with the ablution facilities, restrooms, and imam’s residence.

In the design of the building, the existing poplar and plane trees on the site were preserved, and the structure was positioned in harmony with this natural environment. As a result, the mosque was conceived as a place of worship that exists within nature and integrates with its surroundings.

One of the project’s most important design principles was respect for nature.

The mosque was designed without disturbing the existing trees on the site, positioned among the poplar and plane trees within a layout that respects the natural setting. This approach ensures that the building is not merely an architectural object, but a place of worship that exists together with its environment.

The Cretox panel cladding used on the exterior gives the mosque a modern and restrained architectural character while creating a durable and long-lasting building envelope.
Earthquake safety was also treated as one of the project’s key priorities. The structural system and column dimensions were strengthened accordingly to create a safe place of worship.

Çakallı Hasan Ağa Mosque was designed as a renewed place of worship for the region, distinguished by its architecture in harmony with nature, robust structural system, and rapid construction process.
